Most Alive

Most Alive

I wrote this story for Memorial Day 2017 & it kept nudging me all day to put it in a final form. So, I put everything aside & did it. I think it captures best the things I believe are worth standing for. Because, perhaps in the end, the real freedom that we defend so fiercely is the chance to love without restraint...

with love, brian

This story is available as an 11x14 print on acid-free paper with white/black double matte, protected in a clear poly sleeve.

In my dream, I was having a beer with Death & we talked about everything under the Sun & the thing that struck me most was how easily Death laughed & cried at the smallest of things & I remember thinking, this is one of the most alive people I've ever met. Because Death does not take this lightly, the running your fingers like a prayer over every bit of the world, saying quietly with every breath, thank you for this chance to love.
