Brian actually has a stack of these around as warmups for drawing. As he describes it, 'it's hard to get overly precious about a scratchboard, since you can't go back & erase. What you mark is what shows up.' (Given that, though, he also says you have to be in a particular frame of mind to do it. It's not recommended for those days when you're having difficulty making a decision :-))
